CAmb - Carsten Lauridsen - is a Danish composer, flugelhorn and trumpet player. His experimental ambient compositions originate from a long journey through jazz, as a trumpet player and singer on the Danish music scene. In a continuous exploration of music's language and possibilities, he has moved through soul music and jazz to reach an ambient expression that weaves inspiration from Brian Eno, Miles Davis and traditional Danish songs and hymns into a poetic tapestry of meditative sound. His emotional landscapes; in the melancholy Nordic hymn tradition; incorporates a cocktail of electronic sounds, muted trumpet and flugelhorn.

Carsten learned to play the trumpet at eight years old, and it has been an integral part of his identity ever since. His intuitive improvisation reveals the songs and hymns inner messages, exploring the interaction of the spaces acoustics, the audience and himself.

Prior to his ambient solo project, he collaborated with a large number of musicians, and participated in recording several albums, including with Brian Mcknight. He is a veteran of the Danish music scene and has played live in churches and numerous other venues, including Copenhagen Jazz Festival. He is currently in the studio, recording his debut album.
